Why give to St Anselm’s?

Giving to St Anselm’s will help us to build our church and provide care and support to everyone in our community.  We are not funded by the Government or the Crown.  We rely on donations from our members and are grateful for everything you give, however big or small.

Our most urgent work right now is supporting the community of North Lambeth through COVID-19.

Beyond that, our future plans include redeveloping the church building and continuing to expand the ministry team through the hiring of our new Children and Families Minister to work here and at Archbishop Sumner School, and a new minister to work alongside Team Rector Angus Aagaard and Assistant Curate Steve Davidson.

How much should I give?

We recognise that many in our community are struggling financially or already give to the church in other ways.  However, if you are in a position to give financially, we encourage you to consider giving more – and more regularly – to the church we all share.

The Church of England encourages its members to give 5% of their income after tax to the Church.  This roughly equates to £1 a week for every £1000 of annual income that reaches your bank account after tax.

Where will your money go?

  • £5 would fund a session of Church Mice, our community group for toddlers and the elderly

  • £20 funds one week of Sunday School

  • If 50 people gave £5 more a week it would cover repairs to the church for a year

What are the best ways to give?

You can give in many ways via the Giving page

If you are a tax payer it really helps if you can sign a Gift Aid form (click here for our online Gift Aid form)  This allows the church to claim an additional 25% on your donation at no extra cost to you.  Or if you donate using the following link it will happen automatically.

In addition, many employers offer Payroll Giving which allows you to give directly to St Anselm’s from your salary before the tax is deducted, making the process simple and easy for you and the church.

Giving to the church regularly by Payroll Giving or by setting up a Standing Order is enormously helpful because it provides a predictable income which allows the church to plan.
