St Anselm’s Rear Development

We are hugely excited that the agreement for our rear development has finally been signed, after years of waiting for planning and other permissions.

The plan below shows the ground floor of the rear development, including new toilets, a new church hall (where Sunday School will be held) as well as space for the Parish Office, etc.

The upper floors of the development will be made up of flats which will be sold commercially by the developer, Rocco Homes. The building work is expected to start very soon and will take around 12 months.

To make way for the development, Havilland House (which is no longer habitable) and the current Parish Office, vestry and toilet will be demolished. We are undertaking a staged moving out of these rooms and can let those who need to know, where things are being moved to.

We will provide a temporary toilet during the building work, and the Parish Office will be located above the Pelican Nursery during the build.

The Crèche area will still be usable and we are also beginning a programme of long overdue repairs and maintenance for the church itself. This includes repairs to the roof and re-plastering and repainting where leaks have caused damage – especially in the Lady Chapel.

This is a simplified version of plans, for illustration purposes.
It does not represent detailed, final plans and is not to scale in all aspects.
